In the hum of that city, Africville increased-- a home constructed against the odds, later on taken down, always remembered. From the Barbadian wave came artists and leaders who changed the nationwide tone: Joe Sealy and Oliver Jones in jazz, Cameron Bailey in movie, Anne Cools in lawmaking.
